May is full of events

MKV keeps busy and is represented at many events.

KUTENO 2025

"That was the best KUTENO yet!" – These are the words used by Head of Sales Markus Lutz to describe KUTENO 2025 (May 13-15). A well-known trade show in a new guise. This year, KUTENO did not take place in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, but opened its doors at a new location, the Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center. Not only was the location new, but also the fact that the KPA trade show, which is more popular in the south and was itself only recently revived, also took place in the Bad Salzuflen halls. The trade show organizer Easy-Fairs is behind both trade shows.

Despite the global economic environment, which could arguably be better, the atmosphere at KUTENO was very positive. As in previous years, the high level of quality discussions, the intensive exchange, and the excellent networking opportunities were again highlighted this year. This was further enhanced in Bad Salzuflen by the fact that everything took place in one hall. This meant that trade show visitors inevitably encountered more booths than was the case in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, where the fair was spread across various halls and levels. The MKV booth was easily recognizable by its now famous green and yellow mesh box and was well attended every day. The MKV would like to thank all business partners and interested parties for stopping by.

25 Years of New Materials Bayreuth – NMB

New Materials Bayreuth (NMB) has been in existence for 25 years now, and that was reason to celebrate. Managing Director Kai Zies traveled to Bayreuth on behalf of the MKV to offer his warm congratulations. The celebration was superbly organized by the entire NMB team. The welcoming address by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Ruckdäschel, Managing Director of NMB, was followed by the keynote speeches. Hubert Aiwanger, Bavarian State Minister for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and Deputy Bavarian Prime Minister, opened the event.

Following the opening ceremony, the "Mechanical Plastics Recycling Technology Center" and the "NMB Tool Center" were ceremoniously inaugurated with Mr. Aiwanger. The NMB is constantly evolving and always aims to offer practical, industry-oriented solutions.

This was followed by three keynote sessions, each focusing on opportunities and challenges in current affairs, as well as sustainability in various areas, all of which were very exciting.

The evening event took place at the Hermitage Museum in Bayreuth, which offered both a beautiful location and fantastic catering. This provided the perfect setting for a pleasant evening with great networking opportunities.

There was no shortage of specialist expertise at this event. The second day was accordingly characterized by specialist presentations and divided into three sessions: "Lightweight Construction," "Additive Manufacturing," and "Recycling. Circular Economy. Raw Material Shortages." Interesting insights were offered, and there was plenty of discussion during the breaks.

Plastpol in Kielce

Organized by kunststoffland NRW e.V., a market exploration trip to Poland took place from May 19th to 22nd, including a visit to the Plastpol trade show. Charlotte Müller was there on behalf of the MKV to gain a better insight into the plastics activities of our neighboring country. Plastpol in Kielce, one of the most important trade fairs for the plastics and rubber industry in Central and Eastern Europe, offered ample opportunity for this. In addition to visiting Plastpol, with over 600 exhibitors from 30 countries, there was also a regional focus with company visits in the Silesian region.

With the market exploration trip, the MKV aims to develop a better understanding of local market conditions, explore new business opportunities, and establish new networks and partnerships with Polish companies. This was achieved. The response to high-quality recyclates and compounds, such as MKV's own ZIA compounds, was strong and consistently positive.

MKV looks forward to further expanding its business activities in Poland and neighboring countries.

KNF Mitgliedertreffen
