Company
Expansion of the PV-system
Soon even more self-generated green electricity.

The new year starts with investments. MKV is continuing to consistently restructure its electricity mix to be more sustainable and cost-efficient. The remaining roof areas of the company headquarters in Beselich will also be equipped with photovoltaics in 2025, so that at the end of the year MKV will have a nominal output of around 700kWp. The proportion of green energy, especially that generated in-house, is thus continuing to rise steadily. The roof areas are still being renovated, but the plan is to make full use of the summer sunshine.
The expansion of the PV system improves the company's ecological footprint and, with every kilowatt hour generated in-house, also its cost efficiency. MKV aims to ensure that its own products, recyclates and ZIA compounds, as well as how the company operates and does business, are sustainable. A cornerstone of this endeavor is the certification according to the DIN EN ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems, a globally accepted standard. Environmental management systems help with the systematic recording and identification of potential for improvement of ecological factors. MKV has been certified for its environmental management system for over 25 years, first according to EMAS and then DIN EN ISO 14001.
In addition to the expansion of the PV system, further investments are being planned or are already being implemented, which will entail expansions in the area of material flows. More on this in the 3rd quarter.
