Start 2024

Time flies and the first month of the year 2024 is already over. But a lot has already happened in the first few weeks of the year:

• Publication of the DIN SPEC 91481 – new recyclate standard for polyamides, Managing Director Rainer Zies was once again among the co-authors
• Fixing the dates for trade show appearances in 2024, Greetings from Florida
• Confirmation as a speaker of Managing Director Kai Zies at the VDI’s PIAE Congress

 

New recyclate standard for polyamides – DIN SPEC 91481

Following the DIN SPEC 91446, the first standard for recyclates, which was published at the end of 2021, and which was subsequently used by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) as the basis for their own recommendation, the VDA 284, the DIN SPEC 91481 has now been published. This one builds on the previous one but is solely dedicated to polyamide-based plastic recyclates.

The DIN SPEC 91481 is another step towards viewing plastic waste as a precious secondary raw material rather than just garbage. To protect the environment and reduce the need for non-renewable resources the use of virgin material must be increasingly replaced by recyclates. This requires standards, which enable comparison between materials.

The DIN SPEC 91481 can be downloaded for free at the publisher Beuth.

 

Trade shows

Looking ahead, anticipation increases for 2024. Once again it offers many opportunities customers and other interested parties to talk to MKV in person.

Fixed in the calendar, MKV will be present at the following trade shows and events this year:

KPA in Ulm (shared exhibition area of the Kunststoff-Netzwerk-Franken), 28^th – 29^th February

NPE in Orlando, Florida (visitor), 6^th – 10^th May

KUTENO in Rheda-Wiedenbrück (own booth), 13^th – 17^th May

PIAE congress of the VDI in Mannheim, Presentation, 19^th – 20^th June, Managing Director will be part of the program as a speaker

Fakuma at Lake Constance (own booth), 15^th – 19^th October

These events form the framework but as always many more dates will be added.
