Electric Fleet Initiative

Sustainability is not just a concern for MKV's Ziamid Compounds . MKV's recycled materials help its customers manufacture products with a lower carbon footprint. But what about MKV's own carbon footprint? For over 25 years, MKV has been certified according to ISO 14001, the globally recognized standard for environmental management systems. The goal is to continuously and systematically improve itself and its environmental performance.

Shortly before the end of 2025, MKV received new electric forklifts from Linde, provided by Richter Fördertechnik. With this electric fleet initiative, MKV achieved its 2025 goal of electrifying its internal logistics to 100% just before the year's end. All forklifts now in operation are battery-powered and draw their electricity, wherever possible, from the company's own photovoltaic system.

The company's own photovoltaic system was also significantly expanded in 2025. An additional 245 kWp were added to the existing 547 kWp. Now all available roof space is covered with solar panels. This has a positive impact on the overall CO2 footprint. Increased self-generated electricity also helps to reduce operating costs. However, a complete switch to electric forklifts also requires appropriate charging management from all stakeholders.

The path to a complete switch to electric forklifts was implemented in stages and began with the removal of diesel filling stations. The gas cylinder storage area for the forklifts, which previously ran on propane, will now be converted into a parcel locker and serve as a central collection point for packages.

In 2026, MKV aims to continue improving and becoming more sustainable, both with its recycled-based products and in its own processes and procedures.
